Welcome to BioMaps

BioMaps is a gateway to Australian biodiversity data held by Natural History Institutions. Through this site you can search biodiversity databases and compile maps showing the locations of collected and observed biodiversity specimens.

Steps to Search and Map

Step 1 - Choose taxa names - creates a list of names to use as criteria for searching collections
Step 2 - Search collection databases - creates a list of records matching the search criteria
Step 3 - Choose species to map - creates a map of collection records

Step 1 - Choose taxon name/s from the Names database

Enter part or all of a taxon name. (eg. Mac or Macropus or parma, not Macropus parma)
